Pastor Lynn did his undergraduate work at Messiah College in Pennsylvania; he received his MDiv from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky, and received his DMin from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts.

He began his pastoral ministry in 1978 near Gettysburg, PA where he served a Brethren in Christ congregation.  That congregation was distinguished by a strong program of sending and supporting people to serve Jesus around the world.  Pastor Lynn has served as pastor of Gateway since 1991.  Gateway has experience developing persons for expanding roles of leadership and service.  Since 2004 he has served as an Adjunct Professor at Azusa Pacific University in the Undergraduate Practical Theology Department, and the Graduate Department of Theology and Ethics.  He and his wife, Carol, have four grown children.

He loves sports of all kinds, and enjoys the privilege of church leadership and teaching.
